Vehicle Description 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300 CD VIN:
1235012000953 Very Good Original Condition 5 Cylinder Diesel Engine Automatic Transmission Power Windows, Power Steering and Air Conditioning Automatic Transmission 164K showing on the odometer Following long term ownership dating back to 2004, this 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300 CD is presented at auction due to health reasons.
Limited information is available on the history of the car.
However, with the car being driven only around 1000 miles since 2013, it presents very well.
It is believed the car received a repaint at some point in its history to original color.
The black painted top provides a striking look as does the body color matching hubcaps.
The leading edge of the hood does show standard wear and tear consistent with the miles as noted in the pictures.
The paint on the leading edge of the drivers door also shows wear.
All chrome and other brightwork shows well with no pitting observed.
No rust issues were noticed on the body, having benefited from ownership in Montana with its very favorable and dry climate.
The interior appears to be original to include carpet, front and rear seats and the headliner.
There is wear on the drivers side leading edge seatback from entering and exiting the car.
Upon review of the car, the glass appears original and sports the Mercedes-Benz markings.
The wood-grain dash and console inserts presents very well.
The dash is protected by a form-fitted cover, but does not appear to be hiding any cracks in the dash.
The factory original AM/FM radio works as does the electric antenna.
The trunk shows exceptionally well and includes the original jack Mechanically the car runs and drives well.
The car shifts through the gears as designed and this 5 cylinder inline diesel motor is reported to be economical.
The battery was installed new in 2021.
The air conditioning blows cool, but may be in need of a re-charge.
The car tracks well down the road well and the brakes work as expected.
