Vehicle Description 1952 MG TD Roadster VIN:
TD28044 Engine Number XPAG/TD/16842 Introduced in 1949 and produced through 1953, the MT TD is the most popular of the T series Midgets.
With more than 29,000 produced in the 4 year run, the car enjoyed great success in North America with a huge following for British Sports Cars following World War II.
The MG TD presented auction was acquired out of an estate in Florida and brought to Montana in 2015.
With the car having been in long term storage prior to current owner acquisition, professional mechanic attention was given to the drive train to ensure drivability.
The soft plugs were replaced and the engine was given a clean bill of health.
Following a tune-up and carburetor work, the car was road worthy again! This car features the following:
1250cc Inline 4 Cylinder Engine 4 Speed Manual Gearbox New Tires in 2016 Wire Wheels sandblasted and powder coated New High Quality Top and Side Curtains New Tonneau Cover New Dash Wood Shows Very Well New Steering Wheel Newer Carpet Seats present well The car appears to have had a re-paint at some time in its history.
While the body presents well, the paint does show signs of age.
Cracking is present and there are chips present in the paint.
Having been in the Humid climate of Florida for many years, the chrome does show pitting but is all present.
The car performed well on a short test drive, just as a vintage MG should drive! This car has been consigned to the 10th Annual Montana Classic Car Auction hosted by the Classic Car Auction Group.
The auction is Saturday, September 3 at the MetraPark Expo Center in Billings, Montana.
