Summary:
At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, we count on our Night Mental Health Workers to provide a trauma-informed supportive environment through supervision and assuring the youth's safety in the living unit.
They serve as a positive role model and mentor to adolescents in treatment.
A Night Mental Health Worker will possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and a desire to help youth with complex emotional and behavioral issues.
They should have a passion for this field and be a positive role model and influence the youth.
Daily and Monthly
Responsibilities:
Assure that each youth is safely in bed during the night and their needs met.
Perform and document bed checks every 15 minutes until youth are asleep and every 30 minutes after youth are asleep.
Perform material organization and filing duties as requested by the Program Manager (including report writing, chart audits, and research for peer groups).
Keep the lodge office neat and clean.
It is the night staff's responsibility to wash, dry, and put away the linens after the deep cleaning and to wash and put away the towels nightly.

Required
Qualifications:
21 years old or older Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance:
Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
High School Diploma or GED Required Abilities/Skills Safety and Security Awareness:
Maintaining a safe and secure environment for youth during overnight hours, including knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols.
Empathy and Compassion:
Ability to empathize with the struggles and emotions of youth experiencing mental health challenges, and to provide compassionate care.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with youth, their families, and other members of the treatment team to facilitate treatment and support plans.
Boundaries and Professionalism:
Understanding of professional boundaries and ethical guidelines in mental health care, including maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient autonomy.
Documentation Skills:
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of youth's interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with YBGR requirements.
Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinkings.
Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.
The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others.
These skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships, collaborating with colleagues, resolving conflicts, and navigating various social situations.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
