Position Overview:
Under the direction of RMTEC Director, Communication Specialist, is responsible for organizing monthly calls with all Tribal Health Directors, developing educational materials (infographics, flyers, newsletters, and brochures), and providing technical assistance related to public health communications to Tribal Health Departments in Montana and Wyoming.
This work will include site visits (virtual and in-person) to grantees, phone calls, email communication, communications management, and education.
The position salary will be based upon experience and education.
The Communication Specialist will report to RMTEC Director.
Essential Functions:
Develop and publish educational materials based on Tribal priorities and needs (infographics, flyers, brochures, and other related materials).
Organize and facilitate monthly calls with all Tribal Health Departments/Directors in Montana and Wyoming.
Create, edit, and proofread outreach materials.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders via TEAMS/zoom/email/phone calls.
Summarize reports and other pertinent public health information to disseminate to all Tribal Health Departments in Montana and Wyoming.
Develop infographics related to tribal public health.
Provide trainings related to public health communications or other public health topics.
Assist in grant writing as needed.
Assist in promotional materials for training, webinars, conferences and listening sessions, assessments, surveys, etc.
Draft press releases to increase public health awareness regarding protocols and programs available.
Maintain and improve RMTEC webpage.
Integrate culturally meaningful messages and graphics throughout all communications.
Travel to Montana and Wyoming reservations and various out of state meetings/conferences as required.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Additional Functions:
Demonstrate experience with basic and advanced IT experience.
Demonstrate experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Power Point.
Must be willing to learn other software as Work in a cooperative and professional manner with all RMTLC / RMTEC Sensitivity to others and ability to work respectively and cooperatively with the organization's Excellent communication skills in writing, telephone, online seminar, and face-to-face Other functions as assigned by RMTEC Qualifications Requirements:
A minimum bachelor's degree or preferred master's degree in public health or Statistics or Equivalent and 2 - 3 years' experience working in public Communicate Organized and able to carry out all responsibilities of the position with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Demonstrate discretion, tact, knowledge, judgment, and overall ability in working effectively with federal, tribal, and other professionals and facilitating participation and partnership in the activities of the Sensitive to cross-cultural differences, and able to work effectively within their Must be able to pass a background Experience working with Tribes preferred Design and implement Work with minimal supervision in a team-based American Indian Veteran's preference will be Valid driver's Job Classification:
Regular Status, non-exempt, full FTE position with a (12) twelve-month probationary period.

Environmental Factors:
